T O P I C R E V I E WGemGemGemAre there any aspects to look for in synastry charts that is a surefire "doom" aspect for the future of a relationship? I've heard: Moon oppostion UranusSun oppositon Plutoare powerful negative relationship aspects and in these cases it is not advised to be in the relationship. Does anyone have any input on this? I know it also depends on what the other positive aspects may be to balance this one, but just looking at negative aspects alone, are there any that are real "red flags"?AzalakshIf you found a man you really liked and got along well with, would you say, "Oops, goodbye, we've got Moon opp Uranus and Sun opp Pluto, so astrology says it'll never work - we're doomed. Been nice knowin ya....." ???LaraLOL Azalaksh!!!!Yeah, l think synastry has to be put into perspective. Although saying that, l would be concerned if mars was badly aspected in the 4th :OHappy New Year!!AzalakshLara ~Yeah - perspective One of my favorite (tired) comments might be, "Do you really want to run your life according to the positions of orbiting balls of gas and frozen rock in the sky and the mathematical angles they make to each other??"I say, "NO!! As a further note, my parents had Sun opp Pluto and Moon quincunx Uranus in synastry, and they were happily married for 49 years It depends on the people involved, and their maturity and commitment.Astrology is a helper, an aid to understandiing the psychology of the human spirit -- NOT a tyrannical ruler governing your every action. Awareness, and Knowledge, Are Power!! If something is broken, you can't fix it until you know how it works and how the pieces fit together. If something is a challenge, you find ways to work around the challenge, especially in an association with someone important in your life. From Steven Forrest: http://www.stevenforrest.com/lovehandles.html To me, in the realities of the astrological counselling room, there are two immutable premises: There is no manner of astrological interaction between two people that is so inherently sweet that enough selfishness, confusion about sex, or immaturity cannot turn it sour. There is no manner of astrological interaction between two people that is so inherently bitter that enough patience, devotion, and humility can not only make it last, but make it something precious to both people.Happy New Year!!~ ZalaErickaFhow about in composite? I noticed some aspects that indicate a relationship will be 'doomed' (i guess i would say it ends in heartbreak or something)...venus opp saturn and a few others. i think in synastry...things could be worked out with much effort. but thats just me...i am very romatic and optimistic. i loved a man once and we had terrible synastry aspects. My moon squared his Venus and Mars...and opp his Saturn. Yuck. And my moon squared his Neptune. We loved each other like crazy.GemGemGemThanks for your responses. You all have a very good point. I'm from an asian background and most people always look to chinese astrology before getting into a marriage/serious relationship. They will actually break off a relationship if the "stars" look bad, so I guess that mentality is normal to me. I just wanted to know if there are any aspects to be weary of. GlaucusI don't believe any aspect indicates absolute doom.Sure some aspects indicate significant challenges, but that doesn't necessarily mean that their relationship is doomed to fail. Many long term relationships have significant challenges, and a lot of couples overcome those challenges through good hard work.it really depends not only the couple but also the individuals in the relationship.....especially if they are mature enough to handle a relationship or not.LaraAzalaksh agree! Let's face it, if in synastry with Brad Pitt one is told "sorry the synastry has a couple of real suckers" am l gonna say to Brad "sorry hon, l can't date you cos our synastry is not good enough"?yeah right!!! Thanks so much!Hermes28Hi, GemGemGem.Looking at your chart I can see you were born two weeks before me. You at the new moon, me at the full moon. Howdy. Say, how is the Saturn Return treating you?First off, I think it depends on what you're looking for in a relationship. I'm a firm believer that all wishes come true (Then again, I have Jupiter in the 11th). Metaphysically speaking (I'm no expert) I think people come into our lives, irrelevant of sign and aspects, because we wished them to be. When they show up, depending on how we fell, we tend to switch gears forget all about our wish, and try using them for something else. This is when things get complicated...I digress.I read somewhere or the other, that the closest aspects between the charts will be felt the most. So if you have a Sun conjunct Venus as your most exact aspect, that will color the relationship, leaving these tense aspects to play supporting roles. In a nutshell: these aspects will only doom a relationship if they are the most prominant aspects between the two charts. Mars Conj. Sun - A battle of will and ego. Great for short term sexual relationships, and Friendships, bad to long term unions, unless you like that sort of thing. Too much Conflict. The Sun person will demands the lead, the Mars person will resist being pushed around. Mars Opp/Sq. Sun - S/A/A except conflict may come quicker because Oppositions & squares are not only intense aspects, but challenging ones too.Mars Opp/Sq. Moon - The moon in receptive, defensive and has no fight. Mars is all out aggression. The moon person feels rushed. Moon Sq. Moon - Simply, moon/moon compatibility is essential for living or spending extended periods of time with another person.Mars/Pluto Aspects - Fireworks in the bedroom. And the worse fights, and most intense arguments you could imagine.Prominent Uranus in their chart. - Uranus in the first house, or Aquarius rising. These people are prone to love at first sight. May suddenly fall in love with someone else and leave you.Re: Conjunction. A conjunction (...listen to me, I sound like a pro) is more an "intense" aspect than a "good" one. Meaning you feel it's effects more than that of a trine or a sextile. Eg: Venus Conjunct Mars, and Venus Trine Mars. You would feel the conjunction (for better or worse) more , or quicker than you would the trine.Additionally, some prefer weaker aspects (trines & sextiles) to the malefic (bad) planets (Mars, Saturn) than stronger aspects (Conjuncts, Opposition, Squares)LaraI am about to meet (literally in 10 days time!!!) this man whom l have been talking to for over a month now.. it's ok, i'm meeting him with a friend We have the most unbelievable sexual chemistry - just through chatting. Till now all the challenges we´ve been facing have made us stronger and believing more and more in what special Bond we share with one another.
If you analise the charts closely you find that composite/progressive composite/progressive sinastry/Draconic Charts/Parallells add much more DETAILED aspects that can smooth the "bad" ones you have in sinastry(i say bad but i see it as challenges that lead torwards evolution).
For example we have his Sun Parallel/conj my Mercury( being Merc my sun ruller) - so it can be felt as a conjunction Sun/Sun at a bilevel aspect, turning it more stronger.
His Sun ruler - Venus - is trine my Moon - so it can be felt as a Sun/Moon aspect. My Merc - my sun ruler - is conj his Venus-his Sun ruler - so another aspect that can strenghten the feeling of compatibility.
